Rallly (with three L's, rallly.co) is an open source scheduling tool inspired by Doodle. Participants vote on dates or time slots, and the organizer finalizes the winning option. It's self-hostable, well-designed and has a growing community, one of the best Doodle alternatives out there.
The friction point: to create and manage polls you need to register as organizer, and the free hosted plan keeps some features for the Pro tier.
On KDEMOS nobody registers: type your name, pick the dates, share the link. For casual groups, friends, families, five-a-side teams, this doubles response rates.
One-click share buttons for WhatsApp and Telegram, and a link that unfurls with a proper preview. The whole flow assumes your group lives in a chat app, because it does.
Votes appear in real time while the group is discussing, no refresh needed. It turns the poll into something people watch together.
